Why Upgrade?
The old light seemed pretty small on the bike. It was mounted awkwardly using the bottom two bolts on the stem. It had a bezel on the top that was blinding when the light was on. It was not bright enough to safely light the road or trail.
Upgrade Features:
Mounts solidly via two attachment points to the bike’s fork. Includes a super bright 4000 lumen multi-LED projector light array with low and high beam. Light, aluminum housing, and mounting brackets are beautifully machined. It looks totally awesome on the bike.
Install Notes:
The light uses an H4 connector. It is pretty short, so I just cut the wire coming off the stock headlight and did a splice with solder and heat-shrink.
SpeedmotoCo shipped the light with an H4 adaptor I used for the splice. The stock wiring is black for negative, red for low beam, and yellow for high beam.
I used a neoprene wire wrap to contain my wiring and the H4 connection behind the light.
The mounts on the shock are about even with the bumpers. I needed some neoprene padding to cover these and protect the sides of the bike.

SpeedMotoCo was willing to swap out the brackets for me. These longer brackets allow for space to mount the horn and route wiring. They also allow the light pattern to clear the front fender.
